Join us on Thursday, June 2, 2016 for a pop-up gallery show, talk and book signing by photographer John Davies. John's exhibition and book are titled Kosen, a study of one young Japanese woman’s journey to becoming a geisha. John’s fascination for foreign culture, particularly Japanese, led him to become an avid collector of rare classic Japanese photography books and vintage prints. Now in his 80s, he has produced a photography book of his own. A limited number of books will be available during the event for $45.
This event is kindly sponsored by Brooklyn Brewery. Participants will be able to sample some of their amazing craft beers during the event. Brooklyn Brewery is one of the largest craft breweries in the United States, producing a portfolio of traditional and experimental beers sure to impress any beer drinker.
About John:
John Davies has been taking photographs since the age of 14. Kosen is the first book of his work. The project arose after frequent trips to Japan and John’s love of classic Japanese photography books and vintage prints. John is chairman of The Image Group, the world’s largest cruise ship photography company.
