The first Leica M-camera, built between 1954 and 1966. In its final form regarded by many users as the finest rangefinder camera ever made. Built for durability using aluminum for the body and brass for the top and bottom plates, this camera can take any type of shooting condition. Over a quarter of a million were built in thirteen years. Production ceased in 1966, but a few more were made for the German army.

The body has some scuffs, scratches and a dent in the film door, but is in great condition for the age. A recent CLA from YYe Camera has been performed. The work completed was adjust shutter speeds and brake, cleaned finder, adjust focus, and cleaned, lubed mechanical parts and adjusted for proper working order. Also, the body was recovered with a new leatherette.
